Public Speaking with Confidence

Speak Confidently to Attract Clients and Business Opportunities

Blogging and Beyond with The Blog Squad, Patsi Krakoff, Psy. D., and Denise Wakeman
With Guest Expert: Dr. Larina Kase, co-author of The Confident Speaker

Dr. Larina Kase, a business psychologist, professional speaker and author of six books, shared great tips and strategies for anyone who feels that speaking could help boost their business -- and for most professionals it will.

If the thought of public speaking makes you feel anxious, Kase stresses that you just need to be you, not Tony Robbins! The four key components of being a confident speaker are:

  1. Competence - know your subject matter well
  2. Positive self-esteem
  3. Positive esteem in the eyes of others
  4. Willingness to push yourself and have faith everything will be OK

Dr. Kase shared great tips for connecting with your audience and dispelled some common myths about public speaking.

Great points.

Another way to reduce the nervousness is to simply remember to breathe! breathing will make the nervouse energy disapait so you can focus on what you need to do and say.
