Erik, Mr. Ideal Client, has a unique business that has a lot of appeal to journalists. But even if you don't have a product or service with that kind of universal appeal, you should be writing up Press Releases and posting them on one of the many press release services, such as www.PRWeb.com.
This is one of the many Internet marketing topics we will cover on the radio show. Joan Stewart, a.k.a. The Publicity Hound, will be our guest speaker on this topic soon.
This is an example of what we mean by our title "Blogging and Beyond"...
...It's not enough to just blog. You must also take care of other steps to make your Internet marketing work. We will coach our participants on this in our Blogging and Beyond Mentor Group.
Press releases, besides drawing the attention of journalists who may want to interview you, also serve as link builders. Your blog and your website will rank higher when there are press releases posted online with links back to you. So even if you don't expect to get onto The Today Show, you still need to cover the press release bases. And who knows, if you spin your niche business in the right way, a journalist may pick it up and contact you.
For another example of using press releases, see our post about Ideal Client Finalist Rosalind Sedacca.
