The Blog Squad introduces Erik Feder, for your consideration...
Listen to Erik's introduction.
I’m an author/self-publisher and have marketed my books and ebooks for 1.5 years. My products are based on parking; they are called "The Feder Guide to Where to Park Your Car in Manhattan (and Where Not to Park It!)".
We’re about to launch our new www.WhereToFindParking.com internet service, wherein people will get the information in our books/ebooks in small, easy to use chunks. Users see a radius (they pick the size) of all parking regulations and parking garage information based on the cross street they input. They may also input a time of day and date, allowing them to see the "good" (legal) regulations and open parking garages. This service will be formatted for mobile devices - Palm Pilots, Blackberrys, PDAs, Cellphones - any internet connection.
While many services offer advice on parking garages, to our knowledge we are the only ones who offer complete, extensive information about street parking regulations. We expect this website to be launched on December 1st, plan a release for Boston soon after and then will release versions for other "parking challenged" US cities before looking to do the same internationally.
I’ve run every aspect of my business (except the actual printing of the books) from Day 1. This includes researching, writing, editing and laying out the books, as well as taking pictures and designing the covers. I chose the printer, designed, created and maintained the original website
(www.WhereToParkManhattan.com ) wrote my own press releases, handled all customer relations and worked very hard garnering publicity and marketing the products, both on and off the net . Our books are available through Barnes & Noble and Borders bookstores and on Amazon.com. I’m quite comfortable on the internet. I run an ezine called PARKAZINE, have a shopping cart and sell our products at our site, which I’ll continue to do along with our new service at the new site.

I believe that as our new service and current products not only push technology but also occupy a unique niche, we should be very successful in getting attention from blogs. Sadly, this has not been the case. While I’m a very fast learner, I haven’t had much luck with blogs. While I can pitch the media with ease, I’ve fallen flat when pitching blogs. I did try to start my own blog, but it garnered little interest. I am a very good speaker, am eager to learn and would love to put the power of blogging in my arsenal as we launch our new service.

Hi Peter,
I certainly appreciate any and all feedback on our www.WhereToFindParking.com parking service. Oddly, when I searched our database (we have complete records of everyone who has signed up for and used our service), I could not find the name Peter Blum at all. If you have signed up for and used our service under a different name, I'd appreciate very much if you could contact me directly so that I can address any concerns that you may have.
We've had many people sign up for our parking service and so far have had only good feedback. To my knowledge, we are the only parking service in existence that offers complete street parking information so that drivers may find places to park on the street for free. We also offer information on over 550 Manhattan parking garages so that motorists who prefer this option can contact individual garages for exact prices and availability.
Again, Peter, I'd contact you if I could but I have no information for you, so get in touch and I'll be happy to help you in any way that I can.
Best regards,
Erik Feder

I signed up for his new service and am very disappointed. I now use the free website [URL deleted by editor] to compare all parking rates. It's much easier to use.
Editor's note: When I tried to reply to this person, the email was bounced as a non-existent address. Therefore it is suspicious and possibly a ploy to advertise another site. It is not our intent to advertise other people's programs and is bad blogging ettiquette on the part of the person who commented.
